Synthetic data has proven to be useful to the defense industry by allowing AI to learn from both real and simulated experiences. It can supplement data collected on a battlefield and provide insight to battlefield environments and scenarios that have not been encountered in the past or to places that have limited or no accessibility. Synthetic data is also much faster to gather and can be manipulated to recreate certain events or edge cases.
