We couldn't be more proud of Michelle Amaral, M.S., Ph.D. She has earned her MS in Computer Science from the Whiting School of Engineering at John Hopkins University. She also has a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
When we asked her why she chose to further her education, she said,
"I began programming in #Python while I was working as a post-doc and found I really enjoyed it. I wanted to learn more and, to ensure I had a solid foundation in computer science, decided to formally pursue an education in that area. During that time, I found that deep learning and AI were particularly intriguing to me because of the parallels with biological learning and memory. I'm delighted to apply these principles and further this area of research with 1st Edge LLC. Going back to school was the right decision for me."
